Jose's Story

I am Mexican-American. Last week I was put on probation after I complained to upper management about my belief that my performance reviews are lower than my co-workers due to the fact that I am Mexican-American. We all do the same quality of work, yet they are rated outstanding while I rated only proficient. The only difference I can tell is that they are all white and I am Mexican-American. I went up the management chain because my manager is the one responsible for the performance reviews. I think that he is prejudiced against me and put me on probation as a result of my complaint.
