Employer Responsibilities

Just as employees have rights, employers have responsibilities to protect and foster those rights.

All agencies shall:

  • Provide a clear written policy statement of No Tolerance for harassment  and disseminate the statement to all employees
  • Train all employees 30 days after hiring and every two years thereafter
  • Implement a simple, non-intimidating complaint procedure
  • Look into every matter and if necessary conduct swift corrective or preventive actions. (Remember the new rules for Sexual Harassment)
  • Ensure retaliation does not happen, regardless of the outcome of the investigation
  • Protect the employee rights and foster respect for all parties
