John's Response

John is Mike's boss. His view of the situation is different from Mike's.

All of our employees are valuable, including Mike Anderson. The management staff feels very badly about Mike getting injured on the job. When Mike came back to work, the warehouse supervisor did everything possible to accommodate his injury, but the work keeps piling up and it's causing problems for the rest of the warehouse employees. We looked at ways to accommodate him, but we can't afford to create a new position just for him. We had to release him in order to hire someone to fill his position. We didn't discharge him because he is now disabled. We terminated his employment because he was no longer qualified for the position. It was a matter of business necessity.
