Welcome to the IPE Event Registration Page for the
TTUHSC Office of Interprofessional Education

The World Health Organization describes IPE and its relationship to collaborative practice as the result of when "students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. Interprofessional education is a necessary step in preparing a 'collaborative practice-ready' health workforce that is better prepared to respond to local health needs" (World Health Organization, 2010).
The Office of Interprofessional Education hosts several events and activities throughout the year providing students an opportunity to collaborate across health professions to develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while building mutual respect for one another’s knowledge, values, and ethics.
Listed below are upcoming interprofessional education events and activities open for registration. For more information, contact the IPE Office at (806) 743-2028, or email ipe@ttuhsc.edu. Upcoming Events:

Do No Harm: An Interprofessional Patient Safety Event

Date: September 19, 2025
Time: 8:30am - 12:30pm (Central Time)
Location: Virtual, Online Event
Medical errors can be prevented through strong safety awareness and proactive programs that identify risks and mitigate harm. This interprofessional simulation engages healthcare learners in team-based safety training using standardized patients (SPs). Participants work together to recognize potential hazards, explore the root causes of medical errors, and practice open communication with patients’ families through a Communication and Resolution Program (CRP) approach. By fostering collaboration across professions, this experience emphasizes the shared responsibility of healthcare teams to protect patients, support families, and promote a culture of safety.
The purpose of this event is to highlight the role of team-based care in order to identify and resolve potential medical errors and hazards, discuss root causes in cases of medical error, and practice disclosure of medical errors as a team with standardized patients.
